Extend the service life of your Vitra products by having your Vitra chairs comprehensively refurbished and reupholstered at the Vitra factory. We collect your Vitra chairs and bring them to our factory, refurbish them with a tailored refurbishment service and deliver them back to you.

We offer this service for chairs from the Aluminium & Soft Pad Group, ID Chair, Softshell and Visavis families.

PROCESS

How does refurbishment work for you?

Vitra supports you closely throughout the entire refurbishment process, taking care of collection, refurbishment at the local Vitra Circle Hub and delivery. Throughout, we aim to keep the effort on your side to a minimum.

Contact and assessment: Send us photos of the chairs and their production labels so we can prepare a suitable quotation.

Collection by Vitra: Experienced logistics partners collect the products from your premises. Our well-designed packaging helps reduce packaging waste.

Refurbishment at the Vitra Circle Hub: All refurbishment services are carried out centrally at the Vitra Circle Hub in Weil am Rhein, in compliance with Vitra's strict quality requirements.

Delivery by Vitra: Once the work is complete, the products are transported back to you. Wherever possible, we use our standard delivery routes to act sustainably and reduce costs.

Frequently asked questions about the refurbishment service

Is there a warranty on refurbished chairs?

Yes. After refurbishment, chairs from the Aluminium Group and the Soft Pad Group come with a 10-year warranty. Refurbished ID Chairs, Softshell Chairs and Visavis come with a 2-year warranty.
How long does refurbishment take?

The refurbishment and reupholstery process usually takes 4–6 weeks. Vitra arranges the exact collection date with you individually so that you are without your chairs for as short a time as possible and your chosen fabrics can be sewn in advance.
How much CO₂ do I save compared with buying new?

The saving depends on the target configuration and amounts to up to 75% CO₂ equivalents compared with buying new.
Can Vitra Circle for Contract also refurbish Aluminium Chairs and Soft Pad Chairs on site, without sending them to the factory?

No, refurbishment, reupholstery and reassembly are only possible at the Vitra factory. This is because the entire process, including disassembly, refurbishment and reassembly with spare parts, special tools and measuring equipment, can be carried out most efficiently and effectively there.
Which chairs can be refurbished?

The refurbishment service covers Eames Aluminium Chairs (e.g. EA 103, EA 104, EA 105, EA 106, EA 107, EA 108, EA 112, EA 116, EA 117, EA 119) and Eames Soft Pad Chairs (e.g. EA 207, EA 208, EA 217, EA 219), which are fully refurbished and reupholstered at the Vitra factory.

The refurbishment service is also available for all ID Chairs (e.g. ID Soft, ID Soft L, ID Mesh, ID Trim, ID Trim L, ID Air), Softshell Chairs (e.g. Softshell Chair with five-star base, Softshell Chair with four-leg base, Softshell Chair with four-star base) as well as Visavis, Visavis 2 and Visavis Softback.
